Working at the Turners Grove conservation office was meant to be a fresh start for journalist-turned-dogwalker Evelyn Carlisle. But when an easement inspection on a local estate reveals signs of illegal tree cutting, her investigative instincts are rekindled. As she gathers an unlikely team of allies, including the guides of Rambling Roads Walking Tours, Evelyn is drawn into a dangerous mystery involving powerful landowners and long-buried secrets.
